July 14th

We see

From safety to Hog Fuel

Yellow arrow points to some sort of propane heating device

See July 13th --- line painting truck parked

Problem is the PNG hut warns to keep open flames away from building etc

Presumably truck far enough away – was there 1+ hours

Truck used for line painting and presumably paint kept warm – but wind was from truck to Hut so perhaps ‘safer’ than from hut to truck

Rotary refreshes welcome

Seen over the past few days – men up there repainting the signs ---

Vandalism and a coincidence?

Again seeing several windows broken – presumably by ‘Bar Crowd’ ---- but notice my going to Council last year was almost exactly the same time of year --(and see the links at bottom that page) suggesting the letting out of school is more significant than bar crowd --- thus kids hanging around downtown?

But also I overheard one father saying his 17 year old able to get in bars because no one was checking Ids etc

And here is interesting stats from RCMP of vandalism over time from several years ago --- we need more of this kind of info updated monthly – or at least made public more often

A Town built on Hog Fuel?

One left are sidewalks with large ‘holes’ – presumably the boards in front means happened there too – question of who is liable here?

Picture below is outside Rupert Hotel on 2nd Avenue—when look down the crack see that nothing below --- could just need filling in as in foreground – but presence of manhole cover suggests something more drastic could be happening below the sidewalk than the decay of hog fuel over time

McBride and 2nd becomes a used car sales lot over the weekend

All three these vehicles were for sale plus some on the lot across the street --- Is GST being paid? Do they have a business license – Does anyone care?

SQCRD meeting this Friday but over on Charlottes

Some interesting topics coming up – as discussion of Regional Recycling and dividing Economic Development $$ etc

Plus the amounts received by various directors over 2008 is given as part of SOFI – very interesting and more later

More on Annual Report later--- plus another look at DPA and ‘priorities’ of Council – Green or Kar Kultur?

While it was listing it’s accomplishments in 2008 gave the passing of Dog Bylaw --- but as noted earlier – there are no penalties attached to the Bylaw (fines were never passed) --- in many ways so typical
