City Hall--- SQCRD and

Sunshine

We hear alternative High School will move in here—So how will they settle the parking conundrum?

I hear that in rear of building are 6 parking spaces which may be sufficient – if not perhaps Mall will allow parking

But also note that Zoning Bylaw presently being amended – and requiring Parking for Shcools might not be so sensible anymore --- thus if no place to park ---- or have to pay – then either walk or make alternative arrangements

Parking in Rear building??

Strategic Planning

We hear that City Council went into a strategic planning session 4 hours Thursday and 4 hours Friday last week.

High on their wish list was access highway to airport and villages --- and presumably the by-pass road so container traffic avoids downtown streets was lower on priorities

Fields ‘stuff’ arriving

The merchandise arrives

First the shelving went up yesterday – and then they began to be stuffed with new merchandise

We also overheard the Source head office will announce this week (Friday?) the fate of both the local store and the Canadian chain – presumably chain has already been sold and announcement later in week

See this Business story from last week

The SQCRD gave me XLS file on how budget in 2008 was worked out --- Here is the waste management and the Recreation requisitions for QCI – note they paid the full amount and Mainland entities paid nothing

Along the same lines I see that for the for the North Pacific Cannery Port Ed and Prince Rupert each paid $32,000 and the 2 electoral areas (A & C) together paid 16,000 for a total of $80,000

Regional???

Perhaps I don’t understand – but looks like Charlottes not putting any monies into Recycling – or it might be concealed in small print under the waste management

Sunny warm days and freezing nights

The sun shine is to be welcomed – but streets and sidewalks slippery until the sun has a chance to ‘warm’ them up --- but then once sun goes down – the frost again begins to whiten streets etc
