Council meeting

Preliminary look

Here Gordie Howie gets some razing about his ‘clean’ shirt

Planner is looking for Public participation/ inputs into upcoming new Zoning Bylaw and DPAs

But first – Nathan Cullen will be in town Thursday to discuss local ideas for what is needed in Federal ‘stimulus’ budget --

Here Erika Ralston gives the times and dates – NWCC Thursday 2 hour forum with break out groups – phone 250-622-2413 for more info

Cow Bay and Downtown

Development Permit areas (DPAs)

Provided for in OCP (Official Community Plan) --- areas are marked in red below

(Not evident why McBride included but Cow Bay areas 1st and 3rd excluded

DPA web site

DPA Stake holder meeting last Oct

DPA-- with links to OCP etc at end file

And Consultants DPA presentation end of this article

So far only local streams are included in Environmentally sensitive areas

Note ‘new’ industrial sites too would get DPA treatment

DPAs for other that downtown too

I would suggest many of the steep areas should get special treatment – as ‘environmentally sensitive’ etc – thus see the OCP fig 3 below

More information on City Web site

Plan is to first do the Zoning Bylaw and then the DPAs a couple weeks afterwards

Note the phone number for anyone wanting a seat with name plaque etc – though does not assure you get to actually sit in that seat --- and still have to pay admission

From Gordon Howie’s Report --- Gym seating

New Seats being installed

The seats completed now --- but crews working on floor – re-waxing etc – so unable to get more current image – this one sent by Michael Curnes
