Lots of
effort removing snow on 3rd
|
|
Elsewhere Pedestrians fen
for themselves
Here
the snow plow has caused the problem |
|
|
Will these
priorities lead to law suit?-- |
|
I
was told an older man slipped on ice here Thursday afternoon– badly bleeding
from head – ambulance etc came --- sidewalks had been cleared by merchants – only
snow was in the crosswalk and berm of street (location 1st Avenue
across from the Museum) City
plows are usually the cause of snows on sides of street |
|
City
crews go around clearing at bus stops – which at times almost humorous – how
is the foot passenger to get to the clearing if not by walking in street? At
least on image right the plowed snow bank has been opened so people can cross
the street |
Mainly the bus stops cleaned |

Storm coming
|
|
Winds
predicted to get up to 55 knots – but at least it is bringing warmer
temperatures along with it |

Ling
Tailors old building to be demolished? I
mentioned earlier how snow weighed
down over head awning – City had it removed – then scaffolding was up higher
(image below)– talk was the whole building was to be demolished---(owner not
responding, taxes(?), etc) But
scaffolding now gone – and if further actions presumably have to go through
Council and legal paperwork etc |

home Harware

That
position has been being filled by acting appointments --- thus advertising
for ‘permanent’ applicant must mean that former holder of position (Doug Jay)
has been terminated --- or resigned. So
far my request for details have not been answered – stay tuned. Really
interesting question is will Gordon Howie’s wife get this position? Howie’s
contract needs renewing soon – so can’t afford to lose him this late in game –
so he has bargaining power |
