April 14th

Council meeting and spring

Plus some good Prince Rumours

Council meeting dealt with RCMP Musical rides and Inlander as chief items

Plus condemned Overlook houses (again)

We see Mayor Jack Mussallem absent for 2nd straight meeting

But First ---

I had reported earlier that rumours the Museum building to be sold --- Now I am hearing that Kitkatla bought half the building – and that it will legally be sub-divided later – the idea was to have someplace in town for wakes and offices etc --- the boat below was letting off people to attend a funeral this weekend--- More on this later as it seems one of more positive things that has happened lately in PR

Beautiful sunshine Tuesday

Another rumour I am hearing is that BC Ferries is potentially going to take over the Airport ferry --- but no one on crews had heard anything about it – so while it would be a great relief (if happens) for local taxpayers ---- we’ll have to investigate further --- remember when Airport Ferry was a $$$ maker? – What changed? More later

Herb Pond campaign posters

And it was funny to see Pond’s crew racing around town to claim all the best locations for signs --- one paper said had to look far and wide to find any NDP signs to balance their poster pictures

We see too

Working on the roof of mall --- but actually difficult to tell what doing – I saw a near-by truck with removed roofing material --- so perhaps fixing leaks etc

Rotary and city ‘partner’ in having RCMP ride in PR next July

I will return to this in more detail --- we are talking on order of 12T$ put up by City --- while there is some talk of cost recovery from selling tickets – only Joy Thorkelson broached topic that many families won’t be able to afford the entry price – 10$ adult 6$ child etc
 more later

Ivan Rudman pleads for time – but Council not moved

Plus 1307 and 1309 Overlook condemned (again for former) --- not much progress seen in clean up --- more later --- and Mr E Stackman name comes up both Inlander asbestos study and 1307 Overlook --- more later

Zoning changes

This item took up a lot of time – so much so that obvious Council had not discussed it in-camera --- and thus actually had a good discussion in public for a change

--- Topics from fish bearing streams to Industrial vs Residential vs Public Amenity etc

More later
