Everybody present

May 12th Council meeting

Interesting but l-o-n-g

  Over view

Details over next few days

·        3 Presentations

·        The 20007 Audited statements

·        And finally we get to the 2008 Budget --- where 5% increase defeated – as was 3.5% -- settling on 4%

But an undertone of ‘Mystery’---
what is going on here??

We’re Flexible

But Gordon-Payne wants to see the fine print

2 PowerPoint presentations

As much a ‘getting to know you’ presentation as anything

Bedard was keen to hear about IPPs locally --- but Hydro more about the ‘thermal generator’ standby facility outside town (one of only 3 in Province – the rest are Hydro – (until new IPPs come on line)

CityWest presentation – lots of detail here

Hey I took pictures --- I see that the info was not included in the agenda package

Details to follow

Note two of the CityWest directors have same names as 2 Council members

Briglio and Payne

More later

Mysteries

This seemingly simple announcement was withdrawn from the agenda at last moment with no explanation given.

Mr Jay was not at the meeting

Could it be that Gordon Howie’s wife wanted this ‘contract’? --- But wouldn’t that be a conflict of interest?---Doesn’t  she report to present Mayor?  I will document this later in week

Perhaps this is about Green Apple

Wasn’t Green Apple supposed to be decided tonight? ---- Presumably that is part of the closed meeting
