A lot of
business gone through – The
Paul report was highlight of meeting For
a change there was some actual discussion – though little debate We
even got to see Thorkelson ‘Vacation’ slides Plus
Gordon Payne had to leave because her medication wore off (more later) But
Bedard missed yet another meeting |
|
One of Pond’s last meetings as Mayor

Communities
in Bloom |
|
A
long power point presentation which I have most of – went into the how and
why of judging – and how Rupert can improve upon its 3 of 5 Blooms rating More
later going into each of the categories shown at left |
I will discuss these
in more detail at later date |
Business
went quickly |
|
|
|
Last meeting
this was dropped from list because lacking some of the documentation –
presumably now have --- but it was not included in the public notice in newspaper
(illegal?) |
No
Explanation given mere Citizens |
|
-- because changed, start process
over??? Thus require another meeting on 30th --- by law must be
done before October 31st
|
|
G-P can’t
take it any longer |
Paul Report
next |
|
I
will deal with the Paul report tomorrow Again
the Hesse affair treated more or less as a non issue by this Council ---
Concerned Citizens were not given a chance to speak etc --- But they have
circulated some more info that should have been dealt with – thus Hesse took
courses and went to UBCM meetings on the city’s bill --- strange actions for
an independent contractor—even if she is the wife of the boss ---more later |
|
|
And of course more on Thorkelson’s
sight seeing trip to Sacred Headwaters
|
|
She
interprets that area as very sensitive – contrast her interpretation of
Rupert climate But
Mayor did mention mud slides etc that almost took out PR water --- again little
info – but we were told City was working in the area (interpreted as lucky—but
that work could have played a role in the slides etc) We’ll
never know |
