System passed through 6pm in Hecate with
strong winds and some rain
|

|
Gordon Payne
arrives about 10 minutes into meeting – just off work at Hospital |
------------------Consultant
George Paul comes in over speaker phone ---- |
|
|
|
‘Mayor did
not have the authority to enter into contracts |
From the Consultants
Report – 4 issues addressed -- |
|
|
|
|
Both Mayoral
candidates attended the meeting |
|
Plus
I saw the people referred to as the ‘Concerned Citizens Group’ —being Wilf,
Ashley, and Garon present – though I suspect they were not told about meeting
by City ---At left Cote talking with ex-mayor Don Scott before meeting |
|
|
Kinney
opposed the resolution --- |
|
In
the end – suggested the ‘group of concerned citizens’ could submit 6
questions by next Wednesday—and Consultant would be flown to PR for next
scheduled council meeting so he could answer them, Kinney opposed as he
suggested more people should get a chance to submit questions Good
for Kinney – Voted down because needed time to research answers etc |
|
|
And then
into more closed meetings |
|
I
will go into this in more detail—I had my ‘recorder’ confiscated by City – even
threatened to call RCMP on me --- I had left the machine running and noticed
my mistake as leaving – but because had ‘heard’ some of closed meeting – they
confiscated it ---- and will return Friday after computer techy ‘scan’s my
device to see if all files deleted I
am told the audio file of the full meeting available on City Web site as MP3 |
|
Concerned Citizens
are hampered because now two of them running for Council – so hands tied |
More on this later
|
|
I
will argue that the consultant was more an expensive ‘cover-up’ than fact
finding – mainly because he based his conclusions upon ‘the evidence provided’
by Pond et al--- (but no where itemized) --- plus City attacks another FOI
applicant for not giving City back the info – as city had lost originals etc
--- Plus I remember conversations at time which go opposite of what given
consultant about ‘interference’ etc I
too had submitted an FOI request on Hesse material in April 2008, but City
lost it etc – another request on another matter was referred to as ‘responded
to’ --- sure they told me they had to talk to an employee first --- and
nothing heard since More
