Of these storms
the one marked 4 looks to be the most intense at this time – while #2 has longest
tail towards Hawaii (Pineapple Express) |
Funny how a
council that met only once a month in July through September now extremely
‘busy’ |
This
Council’s last (public) meeting |
This is a
long file One
of Thorkelson’s original critiques was did not include list of the ‘paper
trail’ for this property – thus while summarized at meting all is in the
agenda PKG as at right Meeting

The 511
Cotton saga |

In future |
Another
Thorkelson idea—whenever these demolition orders etc sent out should include a
paragraph for what steps to take next if wish to appeal further (though these
people don’t seem to have needed ‘help’ |
Serendipitously
‘Community Grants’ and Cotton St showed up on an earlier meeting agenda together
Community
Grants |
See
this Jan 15th 2008
page for discussion of measurables |
By lumping Tourism,
Museum etc along with Archery Club 1X grant leads to some ‘scale’ inconsistencies
as pointed out by Thorkelson |
Thus putting 20% of
1.2M$ aside is a huge amount – settled on 20T$ as more the intent |
I always thought
the measurable objectives was one of better ideas this Council came up with –
but perhaps too difficult in practice |

Owners did
their homework – getting
letters from all neighbors etc – avoiding the Graham Ave debacle of last year
House
originally built 1918 and sits on a 25 foot wide lot |
Atlin Avenue
variance— drawing on right shows how close present footprint is to property
lines --- |
Avoiding the
Graham Avenue ‘discussion’
‘debacle’ |
The
last project to raise the ire of public was the possibility of a subdivision
to form a ‘panhandle’ lot ---- See
tomorrow for interesting discussion held by City on Nov 24th and
25th about updating zoning laws etc |
