Briglio defends Pond

Almost embarrassing

Pond’s junkets are in PR best interests

Briglio went on for several minutes at end of March 10th Council meeting producing Pond itineraries --- implication was this was important part of Rupert Strategy of economic development --- presumably ‘decisions made’ by elites (political and business) – so having Pond shaking their hands was in our best interest ---- I have heard some pretty ‘dubious’ accounts of Pond’s negotiating etc (Skeena Pulp mill deal etc) --- so I am not reassured ‘we have Pond’ looking out for our interests down south

But given the Dobell court cases plus the Basi-Virk affair about sale of BC Rail --- cronyism + insiders may well be the way BC really runs under Campbell Liberals
