City hired a structural engineer from Vancouver to view building – his report attached to the agenda

‘a request for building permit by a local contractor’ – precipitated events – Narrative of events on page 16 of report --- at that time it was the City’s property on 3rd Avenue that was of concern by contractor – see below

I was told it was because it was a commercial property that could not wait until regular Council meeting

Is there a bigger problem here?

Gordon Lam seems to consider the City property on 3rd Avenue (and on McBride?) to also be in equally poor condition – the city seemed to be saying the Structural Engineer report on that would come later and that his property was the immediate safety concern
