I have put
the amount ‘suggested’ in 2008 as PINK
The table
comes form my page on 2007 budget
from last April In all cases the amount suggested was same
as 2007; thus Museum 130T + ‘permissive tax exemption’ (requires checking –
council changed mind on tax exemption to not include rented spaces) And
by the way – what happened to bylaw for Tax Exemptions? Last one I have is in 2006—why would this be
done in-camera?? |
|
Note these
‘community partners’ total almost a million dollars with the library taking
up about half of total Library and
Tourism boards did not provide ‘grant application’ by November time line |
|
Above
are the main ‘Enhancement Grants’ but a total of 20 grants are given in paper
work—see the City’s regular meeting PDF
(8 megs) for January 14th meeting – or select
from their page Grant
info goes from pages 34 to 100 |
‘Results
based management’? ‘measurable
objectives’—example below is Eagle Eye Archers
who are asking for $3,500 and ‘interim suggested’ is $2000 --- I note a
church group asking to feed needy breakfast requesting $3T and ‘suggested’
for $1,000 ----go figure |

Joy
Thorkelson: ‘I am struggling with this’ --- the deliverables ‘are not the
ones I would have chosen’ Gordon-Payne:
I asked for this – but the larger ones --- over 20T$ -- this is the first
time we have seen this document – plus expected to see the group (before
Council) to question them how use the $ etc
|
Providing
‘measurable objectives |
|
|
|
Tabled till next meeting |
The idea of measurables is great – but
as Joy points out asking some group to apply to 3 more funding agencies is almost
a waste of their time when grants so small etc (<5T$) I would suggest that when
had Council meeting weekly we would have had time for Council to come up with
useable ‘objectives’ instead of relying so heavily on staff to do all the
thinking/ work |

16
inches cost 340$+ |
|
This
Crestview resident wants to renovate bathroom – adding a new tub takes them
16 inches beyond the allowed set back – and need a ‘variance’ |
|

Proceed to notification
|
|
As
can be seen from aerial photo – neighbouring houses are also close together
so the 16 inches (or 14 in the planners calculations) will not be out of
context for neighbourhood |
