Because the Auditor too busy to be present and comment on audit – the presentation was postponed – and Briglio explores re-tendering the contract |

●An interesting
act of transparency which City of PR did once, but now does in-camera if
at all --- (Remember the 5.1M$ ‘logic error’?) ●Note the
lawyers’ fees that presumably date form Janet Beil dismissal, ● as does the
Tnanalee Hesse interim administrator payments ($75/ hour??) ● Note the SQCRD is paying $8T (per month??) to North
Pacific –Much of the debt was accumulated while Pond was in charge I hear ---
and at its’ last presentation to board – it (Bedard) refused to make its
financial statements public (‘For boards eyes only and shred after reading)
---- makes you wonder --- Briglio requested NP be asked to give update to
Board on current finances (tourism season closed etc) |

While
this is nuts & bolts of what a local government does – often it is most
interesting as gives a preview of what may happen developmentally—here the
aquaculture lease applications to province and wind farm exploration on Banks
If you want to see applications use Advanced
Search type in the file number – or ‘client/ name Thus
Gwaalagaa
Naay --- or Metlakatla
or 6407866
--- note all the protected areas of latter on banks – which will
presumably be ignored |

I suspect
that too is reason for ‘illegal’ in-camera meeting (shades of firing Janet
Beil) – Travis wanted to discuss the ‘Accord’ – and presumably to lobby
Liberal ministers at UBCM for reasons to change the accord in a manner more acceptable
to the forestry interests of ‘Settlers’ ‘Illegal’ as
not on agenda—no reasons given (quoting legislation) why public (me) should
be excluded |
Much of the
Buzz of meeting was upcoming UBCM |

New CAO--- and voting strength – Census
|
|
Before
they went ‘in-camera’ they allowed public to ask question—I took opportunity
to inquire about if/ when changes to voting would reflect the most recent
Census data--- I was first told it would not happen ‘until Province notified SQCRD’
by the Chair, Barry Paiges, when I persisted that his ‘information’ was
incorrect on the procedure – John sided with me and said the changes would be
made soon (with Ian getting one more vote and Rupert getting one less) |
