Parking in Podunk

‘Pay parking to begin May 1st

Or so they told us

We (the City) have even purchased this new ‘High tech’ ticket dispenser --- which sits down at Rushbrook parking lot – waiting for Donations??

NorthCoast's Regional Information Site

Earlier: where pay parking promised and links to previous –and here for more general issue on parking study where nearly 3T ‘on street’ parking spaces found downtown

Pay Parking – only fair

The city provides ‘free’ boat launch and parking to mainly out of town/ province visitors while charging our own kids ‘large’ sums to use the local gymnasium and swimming pool

A quick look in windows of the vehicles parked here showed no one had a parking ticket showing in front windows

While the machine may have been purchased on May 1st—and dutifully installed – looks like it is a joke

No signage

No instructions

Who in right mind would pay?

Donations?

How Much?

Perhaps City is waiting to pave the lots – and put down lines for parking spaces --- thus that camper vehicle pulling a boat trailer would = three small cars worth of space – but I doubt they would willingly buy 3 tickets ‘unprompted’

George Hills Way parking has to be dealt with

This truck and boat trailer are taking up 3 parking spaces – and they are from out of town – presumably using yacht Club facilities

I was told George Hill Way would get 3 hour parking to ‘solve’ the problem that pay parking at Rushbrook will create as people use the ‘free’ spaces close by --- At present there is no signage along this roadway at all – thus many people park for weeks at end  (see my last year stories)

Will report back on this soon as problem has to be solved
