Property Values in PR

Regional Comparison

Assessment and Sales data is available online until March 1st

Start Here

Very useful – even if not interested in appealing the assessment

2 options available: seeing all the assessed values in your neighbourhood

Or looking for sales prices last year – to do that requires know what ‘Section’ of town you live in --- see image at end of file

Cote Question

After the BC Assessment presentation Cote asked series of useful questions: in answer was told most assessments done by neighbourhood – thus all houses in block raised similar 5 etc --- and if there is a newer house among older?—then look at sales of similar aged houses – but refined further in that assessed for land and built structures – thus house value might be same as newer houses but the land value would reflect the neighbourhood actually in (though most notices don’t distinguish between 2 values and only give the sum value)
