‘Shame on you’

Show your Kanata Spirit

Good public meeting – well attended – passionate presentations

People with keys went in door 1 – people without keys door 2 (unlocked)

As with the OCP – the quality of Rupert public involvement and participation amazes me --- intelligence, refreshingly original ideas – passion and compassion

Note too the disconnect between City Council and School Board

One sees glorious future – the other continuing decline

Place was almost packed

First the VIPs had their say – along with power point presentations etc – then the public – (one City councillor present but left about half way – before public spoke)

Presentation by teachers/ support staff and Parents all well done and informative – each with Xeroxed copies handed out at door

The Power Point presentation with choir singing in background was again excellent

What is in the best interests of the student??

If have a 600T$ surplus where is the necessity to close? --- Where is the larger vision of elementary schooling for PR?

Gary Rabel questioned the timing (2 weeks til summer vacation etc) , the conflict of interest on board, Restart in September when more appropriate

Numerous spoke of school spirit – and many saw it as a home away form home – a safe place – walkable – secure --- Celebrate small intimacy – not the crass ‘got to save $’ corporate vision --- a place of multi-culturalism and acceptance --- where space to help severe autistic to gym where everyone could use 5X a week ---
