Chief
Miller gave a day by day account – showing Council and audience that
Emergency Prep worked well – probably most informative was how difficult it
was to get the oil companies to barge up fuel --- times have changed and
Rupert no longer has storage capacity –and fuel companies are not interested
in liability etc issues of marine transport --- all agree Robert Stromdahl of
Petro Can was the main reason the barges showed up at all --- this prompted
Council to ask how to better prepare ‘next time’ --- suggestion was to change
the provincial legislation: thus removing liability etc |
