We see around PR

Mostly the aftermath of recent heavy snow

New meaning of Pot Holes in Prince Rupert

Cow Bay area – at first there were fake tulips in these pots

As city infrastructure continues to decline – mainly because of budget cutting –

We look at some images/ ideas brought by recent heavy snow

From comparative ‘insulation’ surveys to recycling sand to shrub damage etc

No insulation in attic?

Recent snow storm allows quick visual check of how well houses are insulated – and comparison with neighbors

Above image houses are all WW2 vintage (wartime 4’s?) and presumably built at same time --- it would be interesting to make a ‘picture’ book comparing how different owners have modified over years – some are quite extraordinary

Where does all this ‘sand’ go after snow melts?

Presumably much will go down the street drains and rest will be swept up by city--- too bad there is not some way to ‘recycle it as it is presumably valuable and a finite resource locally

Downed trees etc

The most lasting ‘legacy’ of the unusual snow storm is the destruction/ damage to so many trees and shrubs (see my CN trail page)  – all over town ornamentals etc damaged, limbs down etc—will be interesting to see how trees and shrubs like these respond over time – will grow ‘straight’ again with spring etc (here near Rushbrook floats)

Here is page from when snow was heaviest etc
