Cow Bay area parking

Example of committee

Task force on Parking???

Leadership missing on parking issues—
People’s boat trailers main problem--- We charge kids 2$ to use gym – but boat owners nothing, thus leave them Cow Bay long periods time

I have photos from last July where most the parking taken up by boaters on extended cruises

Is there a problem? Are we working on it?

Several Councillors seem to think there is a ‘parking taskforce’– thus Cote wanted to suggest to it that lines be drawn delineating parking spaces

Councillor Kinney reminded him – no such committee as yet

(previous look at parking)

Lots of room here – if parked to optimize available space

Cow Bay parking – 1 July

Boaters here

‘No parking’ for several blocks either side of Yacht club

Here it is not trailers but vehicles

4 blocks of empty spaces until approach docks

Most these trucks w empty trailers were here for 3+ days --- taking up lots of space

Main ‘congestion’ is around boating areas --- Yacht club and docks --- latter with trucks/ trailers taking up same spaces for days even weeks

Easily remedied with some sort of fee

Summary: 3 problem areas: need fees

Cow Bay can get cramped; I suggest ½ the cars on typical summer day belong to people working in the area (not tourists nor customers)
