Northwest Transmission Line Project
draft Terrms of Reference   pdf (1.6 megs)
Public comment: Nov 13 - Dec 13/07 --- Both images from TOR

Socio-economic:– where jobs will be from etc in TOR

Current Snow Pack site – Stay Tuned

The image is for Tsai Creek (nearest station to PR) but is typical for most the stations in regional NW (4 of 4 looked at)---- and in area 3C – but not farther south

Global warming implications?? Looks like locally precipitation as snow—can’t tell if more total precipitation increasing or just colder from this kind of data

Katabatic Wind farm projects

Banks Island North Wind Energy Project

Recent PRDN story says Mt Hays project needs to go back to EAO office – but not yet on ‘current projects’ page

Most recent update for Banks Island project (Nov 9th) says needs to expand acreage to East and South but that area not delineated as yet (March 2008?)

Katabatic Nov 7th update on Mt Hays & Banks wind farms – where hire Engineering firm --- note how Katabatic press release speaks of 3000 megawatts (not previous 700) and talks about 40T hectare Banks ‘property’(all the while looking to export green power to US)

But from this Living Oceans Kelp inventory – looks like the South of Stephens better option

Rockfish Conservation Areas Feb 2007 (North Coast)

NaiKun Wind Generation Facility (EAO)

The Project Draft TOR online (only 484 KB PDF) --- on the comments page some interesting public inputs – will buried underwater transmission line to mainland affect crab migrations (electromagnetic fields etc)

And what about those ‘buried lines’

these red areas are current Rockfish Conservation areas – from that perspective looks like Northern Porcher Island route better choice --- but it is ‘richer’ area
